Director of Communications

the client seeks a Director of Communications to join its Leadership Team. This role is expected to be the first full-time internal communications hire and will help shape and evolve the communications function while supporting the client’s strategic work in its spend-down period. The director will advance the client’s legacy and philanthropic impact through narrative and storytelling, using communications to help leverage partners’ impact now and after the client sunsets. The Director of Communications will support internal communications, including helping the team effectively report to and engage with the Board of Directors. The role will focus on identifying and implementing strategic communications activities that reflect the client’s legacy and contribute to change across reproductive and birth justice, early childhood, infant mental health, and Jewish Values-related ecosystems through an integrated communications strategy. The client also expects the director to consider how its legacy may continue to influence its work over time. The client is seeking a candidate with exceptional narrative design and storytelling experience, who is detail-oriented and organized. The role requires a deep commitment to the client’s mission and to racial, gender, and economic equity, including the ability to contribute to an equitable, inclusive, and diverse organizational culture. The director is expected to bring an awareness of lived experience and a strong commitment to community-centered change aligned with the client’s values of justice, courage, persistence, relationships, and equity.
