Job Title: Part-Time Contract Program Manager, Intermediary Services

Reports to: Vice President, Intermediary and Strategic Partnerships or Senior Staff, depending on contract

Anticipated Hiring Range: $39.16 - $53.70 per hour. Rate will be dependent on specific contract scope, budget, and candidate experience/qualifications.

Classification/Schedule: Contract/Variable hours; This is a pooled application process, and applications will be reviewed on an ongoing basis. This is a non-exempt contract role with variable hours based on contract needs and available funding. Hours and employment are based on a set period and concludes when contract period ends. Work schedules typically average fewer than 25 hours per week, though hours may fluctuate depending on project requirements. Contract durations vary and may range from 1 to 2 months to more than one year. Specific details regarding hours, assignment length, and project scope will be discussed at the time of offer as contracts become available.

Job Summary:

As a generalist managed by the VP, Intermediary and Strategic Partnerships or Senior Staff, the Part-Time Contract Program Manager, Intermediary Services drives initiatives from conception to completion and manages and executes the day-to-day operations of a project, ensuring alignment with funder goals, managing risks, and delivering results on time and within budget. Projects may involve regranting, capacity building, community outreach, convenings, and multi-stakeholder collaborations.

Essential Functions:

• Develop and oversee workplan, execute key tasks, and drive project team toward client goals and deliverables in collaboration with senior intermediary leadership, contract evaluators and subject-matter consultants (if needed), administrative assistant, and key internal stakeholders.

• Design, manage, and implement logistics for program operations, grantmaking, and events including use of various platforms and tools such as Submittable and Zoom.

• Create and maintain detailed project plans, roadmaps, timelines, and milestones; provide detail-oriented project management and directly complete most project tasks independently.

• Co-design grant guidelines, application materials, FAQs, and budgets in collaboration with supervisor, clients, and Grants team members.

• Plan and staff office hours or other technical assistance and grant application support.

• Plan content and oversee logistics staff and agenda planning for peer-learning gatherings, trainings, and conferences. Docusign Envelope ID: 465901D5-CCBE-8FA9-8190-0C726234DF37

Variable: hours and employment are based on a set period and concludes when contract period ends.

• Monitor and track project progress and proactively identify risks and roadblocks to delivery and completion of project scope of work.

• Share updates or other progress reports to Senior Program Director and other leadership and stakeholders as requested.

• Ensure deliverables meet quality standards and provide necessary information for invoicing and reporting.

• Work with program and grant administration staff and/or subcontractors to develop, document, facilitate and deliver curriculum for training and workshop modules; facilitate peer learning opportunities.

Requirements

Skills/Qualifications:

• A minimum of 5 - 7 years of relevant work experience in nonprofit project management, consulting, philanthropy, leadership development, racial justice work, public policy, public health, public administration, program development, community development, civic engagement, organizational or community capacity building, evaluation, or other relevant field(s)

• Lived experience in a community traditionally under-represented in nonprofit leadership roles

• Ability to be agile and resourceful in a dynamic environment, managing changing needs and anticipating next steps.

• Experience leading complex government-funded contracting or grant initiatives, a nonprofit, or a startup venture a plus.

• Experience and/or comfort with operating in knowledge organizations and thought partnership roles, translating ideas to action in ambiguous, changing, and flexible projects.

• Experience working with diverse groups and in a team environment, with a collaborative and consultative style.

• Familiarity with the landscape of LA’s nonprofit, philanthropic, and government sectors.

• Excellent organizational, analytical, and written/oral communication skills.

• This role may require the ability to travel locally to related meetings, convenings, or conferences.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s degree or equivalent experience a plus.

Working Conditions:

The employee is regularly required to sit for extended periods of time, frequently required to walk and stand. The employee must also use his/her hands to operate and feel office equipment and reach with hands and arms. Employee may occasionally climb, stoop, kneel or bend.
