Details Work on a 22-bed Med/Surg unit treating general medical-surgical, renal, transplant, and urology patients Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts totaling 36 hours per week Patient ratio of 1:5-6 Required to float across campuses to like units at Iowa Methodist, Iowa Lutheran, and other affiliated hospitals Every 3rd weekend required No on-call requirements Uses Epic EMR Requirements Active IA or compact/multistate RN license required Current BLS certification from AHA or ARC Minimum of 24 months of Med/Surg experience in a hospital or medical center setting Strong experience in renal and urology care required Proficient transplant care experience required Level II trauma experience required Level I trauma experience highly preferred Epic EMR experience required At least one travel contract completed within the previous 15 months required Driver's license required for consideration Skills checklist specific to Med/Surg discipline required for consideration Professional reference from a supervisor, charge nurse, manager, director, or CNO/COO within the last 24 months preferred Additional Information Provide direct patient care across a diverse Med/Surg population including renal, transplant, and urology cases Facility is a Level I Trauma Center and teaching hospital with a strong cardiac and cancer care program Navy blue scrubs required Holiday rotation required, including working 1-2 of the 3 winter holidays (must be available to work Thanksgiving) Candidates must not reside within 50 miles of the facility to qualify for travel rate eligibility Past UnityPoint Health employees (FTE or PRN float pool) are ineligible to work travel assignments at any UPH facility within 12 months of separation First-time travelers are not eligible for this position due to the travel contract requirement American Traveler Job ID P-771627.
