Description:
The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is responsible for meeting residents' activities of daily living (ADLs) needs as outlined in the plan of care.
The CNA will ensure hygiene, grooming, dressing, incontinence/catheter care, elimination/toileting needs, turning/positioning, and skin care are addressed.
Documentation must be completed per protocol.
The CNA will maintain residents' environment and safety according to the plan of care and policies and procedures.
This includes answering call lights and alarms promptly, providing safety mats and low beds, and managing restraint use under the direction of Nursing.
The CNA will maintain cleanliness of the unit, implement behavior and fall prevention strategies, and monitor equipment for malfunctions.
All documentation must be completed per protocol.
The CNA will meet residents' nutritional needs as specified in the plan of care.
This includes meal delivery, tray preparation, adaptive equipment, and feeding.
Residents' preferences and choices will be honored, and documentation is required.
The CNA will address residents' rehabilitative needs as outlined in the plan of care.
This includes performing range of motion, ambulation, transfers, maintaining proper body alignment, and using assistive devices.
Documentation must be completed per protocol.
The CNA will report residents' rights, refusals, and concerns to the Charge Nurse and/or Supervising Nurse in a timely manner.
Changes in residents' physical, emotional, and psychosocial status must be identified and reported promptly.
Occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens may occur.
Required tasks involve potential contact with blood, body fluids, or tissues.
