A privately held manufacturing company in the Miami, FL area is seeking an experienced Interim Controller to provide hands-on leadership of its accounting and finance function. This is a high-priority assignment for a proven manufacturing finance professional who can quickly stabilize day-to-day accounting operations while providing leadership with greater visibility into cash flow, inventory, purchasing, and financial performance .

The Interim Controller will oversee the accounting function, improve the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting and forecasting, and partner closely with operations and senior leadership on key business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, financial reporting, AR/AP, payroll oversight, and month-end close.
• Improve the speed, accuracy, and reliability of monthly close and management reporting.
• Manage budgeting, forecasting, cash flow planning, and financial analysis.
• Provide leadership with actionable visibility into cash requirements, inventory levels, purchasing decisions, and commodity costs .
• Oversee manufacturing and cost accounting, including inventory, COGS, work-in-process, and percentage-of-completion accounting.
• Analyze raw material costs and inventory requirements to support purchasing and working-capital decisions.
• Assess existing accounting processes, controls, systems, and team capabilities and implement necessary improvements.
• Partner with operations and leadership to improve profitability, cost visibility, and financial decision-making.
• Support ERP and AP automation processes and identify opportunities to improve financial workflows.

Qualifications

• Significant Controller or senior-level accounting/finance leadership experience.
• Manufacturing industry experience required.
• Strong hands-on cost accounting, inventory, and WIP/percentage-of-completion accounting experience required .
• Experience in commodity-based manufacturing environments strongly preferred; exposure to steel or other volatile raw materials is a plus.
• Strong cash flow management, forecasting, and working-capital experience.
• Experience working with ERP systems and AP automation tools.
• Private equity-backed company experience strongly preferred.
• Ability to operate both strategically and hands-on in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• CPA preferred but not required .
• Bilingual capabilities are a plus.
• Must be able to work 100% onsite in the Miami, Florida area .

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced manufacturing Controller who can step into an organization quickly, establish financial discipline, and make an immediate operational impact. The initial assignment is expected to last 6–9 months , with the potential to convert to a permanent position for the right candidate.
