Position Summary

The Inside Sales Representative manages a portfolio of small to medium repeat accounts while developing new opportunities through consistent follow-up, product knowledge, and responsive customer service. The role works closely with Customer Service, Operations, and the Sales team to move orders accurately from inquiry through delivery and build profitable customer relationships.

Core Responsibilities

• Own relationships with assigned repeat accounts and maintain regular contact to identify demand, resolve issues, and support account growth.
• Respond to inbound inquiries, prepare quotations, follow up on open opportunities, and close sales through phone, video, and in-person meetings when appropriate.
• Work with Customer Service to enter and manage orders accurately in the ERP system, including pricing, product availability, delivery requirements, and customer communication.
• Onboard new customers by coordinating account setup, product introductions, samples, quotes, and the first-order process.
• Develop working knowledge of SHD Composites products, applications, and customer value propositions.
• Maintain complete CRM and ERP records for customer activity, quotations, pipeline, orders, and account plans.
• Partner with Sales Leadership and field sales colleagues on account coverage, prospecting priorities, customer visits, and commercial risks.
• Travel locally as needed for customer meetings, relationship development, and internal coordination.

Qualifications

• Two or more years of inside sales, account management, customer service, or business development experience in a business-to-business environment.
• Experience managing repeat accounts, preparing quotations, and following opportunities through close.
• Strong phone presence, written communication, listening skills, and persistence in follow-up.
• Comfort using CRM and ERP systems; proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Outlook.
• Ability to learn technical products and explain value clearly to customers. Experience in manufacturing, industrial materials, composites, or related markets is preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate or bachelor degree in business, sales, marketing, or a related field is preferred.

Success Measures

Performance will be measured by retention and account growth, opportunity conversion and quotation follow-up, order accuracy and responsiveness, new customer onboarding, and contribution to local market growth.

Compensation and Travel

Anticipated hourly rate: $26.50 to $33.65, plus a variable incentive or commission plan. Pay will reflect experience, role scope, and internal equity. Local customer travel is expected, generally up to 20% of work time.

What You Will Do

• Keep CRM and ERP records current and work with the broader Sales team on account plans and customer needs.

What You Bring

• Business-to-business sales, account management, customer service, or business development experience.
• Strong communication skills, sound judgment, and a disciplined follow-up approach.
• Comfort with CRM, ERP, Excel, and a fast-moving order environment.
• Interest in learning technical products. Manufacturing, industrial materials, or composites experience is a plus.

Pay and Benefits

The anticipated hourly range is $26.50 to $33.65, plus eligibility for a variable incentive or commission plan. This equals approximately $55,000 to $70,000 annually before overtime for a 40-hour schedule. Final compensation will reflect experience, qualifications, and internal equity.
