Mechanical Design Engineer

Job Summary We are searching for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer in Westminster, MD to support research and new product development work for an industry leading aerospace manufacturing company. This is a contract position expected to last six months and could be longer. Location: Westminster, Maryland. Job type: Contract. Salary: $45 - 60 per hour. Work hours: 8am to 5pm. Education: Bachelors. Responsibilities Performs tasks including design, analysis, risk management, planning, and coordination with other technical functions and program management related to all work within the scope of assigned projects. Develop conceptual designs into a mature product solution. Develop engineering standards and design guides to support continuous improvement of the relevant engineering domain. Work to Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) principles including careful management of Critical to Quality requirements through the design lifecycle, rigorous knowledge building of the design space, understanding of the effects of manufacturing variation, and design for manufacturing and assembly to meet product recurring cost targets.
