About the Role

The Company is seeking an AVP, Associate General Counsel to join their team. The successful candidate will provide hands-on legal counsel to the company's business units, assist the General Counsel in managing legal department operations, and ensure legal compliance for the organization. This role involves identifying and analyzing legal issues, presenting clear recommendations, and supporting the legal department's objective of being a trusted advisor. The AVP, Associate General Counsel will also be responsible for managing defensive litigation matters, conducting legal research, and providing legal guidance for new product development and delivery channels. Applicants must have a JD degree, be admitted to the state bar, and have 3-5 years of work experience, with a preference for those with in-house or mid to large law firm experience. A background in consumer financial services and familiarity with relevant lending laws and regulations is required. The role demands excellent communication, computer, and Microsoft Office skills, as well as the ability to analyze complex business and legal issues, and manage multiple priorities. The ideal candidate will have exceptional judgment, outstanding interpersonal skills, and a teamwork-oriented attitude, and will be expected to embrace the company's core values and leadership model.
