Mission of role:

We are seeking a Finance Director to lead and oversee all financial operations for our North America business. This role will be responsible for building and managing financial processes, leading the finance team, and providing strategic insight to support business performance and growth.

This is a high-impact leadership role that partners closely with executive leadership and plays a key role in ensuring financial accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency.

Functions and Responsibilities

Financial Leadership & Strategy:

• Oversee all financial operations, reporting, and forecasting for the business
• Partner with leadership to provide financial insights and drive business decisions
• Monitor financial performance against budgets and recommend corrective actions

Reporting & Analysis:

• Lead preparation of monthly financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow)
• Analyze financial results, identify variances, and provide actionable insights
• Manage quarterly forecasts and ensure alignment with company goals

Accounting Operations:

• Oversee month-end and year-end close processes
• Ensure accuracy of reconciliations, accruals, and financial reporting
• Support audit processes and preparation of financial statements

Compliance & Controls:

• Maintain strong financial controls and ensure compliance with US GAAP
• Oversee tax filings including sales tax, property tax, and other regulatory requirements
• Develop and enforce accounting policies and procedures

Team Leadership:

• Lead and develop the finance team in Los Angeles
• Support hiring, training, and ongoing development of staff
• Promote a high-performing, accountable team environment

Systems & Process Improvement:

• Support implementation and optimization of financial systems (ERP)
• Identify opportunities to improve reporting efficiency and accuracy

Qualifications & Educational Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
• CPA, CMA, or MBA strongly preferred
• 10+ years of experience in accounting or finance leadership roles is required
• Must have a strong knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting
• Proven experience managing audits, tax processes, and financial controls
• Must have advanced Excel and financial systems experience
• Experience in a fast-paced or operational environment (food production, logistics, or similar) preferred.
• ERP implementation or system optimization experience is preferred.
• Must have strong leadership and team development skills
