Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) or Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) – Full Time

Responsibilities

(include but are not limited to)

• Assist the supervising therapist with screenings, evaluations, re-evaluations, discharge planning, and therapeutic interventions in accordance with physician orders
• Carry out established treatment plans designed to improve resident function, mobility, safety, and independence
• Provide therapeutic treatments and activities under the direction of the supervising therapist
• Document resident progress, treatment outcomes, and observations accurately and timely
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, therapists, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary team members
• Monitor resident response to treatment and report changes in condition or progress to the supervising therapist
• Assist with discharge recommendations and continuity of care planning
• Maintain compliance with all federal, state, facility, and professional practice standards
• Support a positive rehabilitation experience that encourages resident participation and goal achievement

Skills & Qualifications

• Current Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) or Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) license required
• Current NBCOT certification, if required by state regulations
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary healthcare environment
• Experience in skilled nursing, rehabilitation, long-term care, or behavioral health settings preferred but not required
