Custodian, Sharks Ice Fremont

Custodian PositionResponsible for the safe operation and normal maintenance of the ice arena.Shift lengths vary depending on business needs and can be up to 8 hours any day and time of the week including weekends and holidays.Makes a positive contribution to the entertainment experience of guests by cleaning and maintaining the facility.Works with cleaning materials and solutions to maintain cleanliness throughout the facility.Ensures the overall cleanliness of the building.Provides excellent customer service at all times that the facility is open for business, and ensures that all policies are properly implemented.Knows emergency procedures for equipment and evacuation plan.Performs additional duties as required.Must be 18 years or older.Must clear background check with no felony convictions.Must be able to wear SSE assigned uniform during all shifts.Positive attitude, self-motivated.Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.Must be able to successfully perform the essential functions of this job that are physically demanding [i.e., kneeling, bending, stooping, sweeping mopping, climbing stairs, pushing, pulling, reaching, carry trash and garbage, empty trash cans, restock restrooms, carry buckets sometimes filled with liquids].Must be able to work in a cold environment.Must not be allergic to the cleaning materials and solutions used.Available for shifts that extend into late night and/or early morning hours.Must be able to operate basic janitorial equipment (e.g. floor scrubber, floor machine, vacuum, basic hand tools).Ability to sit, stand and utilize a computer for extended periods of time.Communicate via phone and email with a variety of individuals.Ability to bend at the waist, reach overhead and lift up to 15 lbs with or without accommodation.Physically navigate stairs and catwalks at SSE facilities during normal work hours and events with or without accommodation.Ability to work occasional extended hours including nights, weekends, holidays (all with advance notice).$200 employee referral bonus for each friend hired.30% discount in the Sharks Pro Shop.Food and beverage discount at SAP Center, Tech CU Arena, and Stanley's.4 free Barracuda tickets to most games.Pet Insurance.Free ice skating at Sharks Ice (San Jose, Fremont, and Oakland).Free employee parking.Fun environment.This position is not eligible for U.S. work authorization sponsorship.Born in 1991, Sharks Sports and Entertainment ("SSE") has grown into a family of teams, venues, and experiences that includes the San Jose Sharks, San Jose Barracuda, SAP Center, Tech CU Arena, Sharks Ice facilities, and the Sharks Foundation.
