Hybrid position requiring both remote and on-site work. Candidates must reside in North Carolina, South Carolina, or Georgia. Travel up to 20% is required.
Pay Range:
$54.90 - $82.35MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Accountable for the leadership and oversight of market/site based clinical informatics team. Oversees the alignment of clinical informatics initiatives to align with market, regional and enterprise goals. Collaborates with leaders within their assigned area of responsibility across all care settings to identify opportunities for efficiency and improvement in our clinical systems to gain support for various clinical technology initiatives, and to identify opportunities for efficiency and improvement
- Executes the clinical informatics strategy to advance health informatics technology, clinical initiatives, end user support, clinical workflow optimization and ongoing education. Manages the implementation and delivery of clinical informatics projects in collaboration with leadership across the region to identify opportunities and develop and prioritize projects and resources.
- Oversees the evaluation of clinical system adoption and optimization projects to ensure success and measures the project’s effect on enterprise strategies. Monitors the progress of clinical informatics projects and initiatives to accomplish strategic goals and provide recommendation to improve efficiency, effectiveness, quality, safety, as well as patient and teammate satisfaction
- Drives, manages and continually evaluates the delivery of standardized clinical workflow adoption, optimization of and transformation within the EHR as well as associated technology to ensure the needs of clinical end users are reflected. Reviews metrics for success and facilitates the improvements at both the local and enterprise level that provide quality, safe patient care and improve the overall patient and teammate experience
- Collaborates with the technical training and clinical training teams to deliver optimal educational/training programs on the use of clinical systems and clinical documentation to support the successful adoption and utilization of patient care technology
- Identifies business needs, trends and recommendations through oversight of clinical data collection, analysis and monitoring to guide business decisions. Thinks beyond existing solutions and relationships with the ability to see the impact of processes and programs to the overall enterprise. Champions change to continuously drive improvement to clinical systems adoption, improvement, optimization and innovation
- Serves as a subject matter expert on complex issues related to health care/clinical information technology and workflows. Recognizes opportunities and implements new methods for increasing efficiency such as automating clinical data, validation and benchmarking
- Performs human resources responsibilities for staff which include interviewing and selection of new employees, promotions, staff development, performance evaluations, compensation changes, resolution of employee concerns, corrective actions, terminations, and overall employee morale.
- Develops and recommends operating and capital budgets and controls expenditures within approved budget objectives.
- Responsible for understanding and adhering to the organization's Code of Ethical Conduct and for ensuring that personal actions, and the actions of employees supervised, comply with the policies, regulations, and laws applicable to the organization's business.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Level of Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Informatics, Business or Healthcare Related Field Required
Years of Experience: Minimum of 3 years’ experience in healthcare and/or healthcare informatics that includes experiences leading groups and implementing healthcare informatics initiatives, projects and processes and the development and delivery of clinical application competencies, policies and education within an integrated healthcare system. Includes leadership experience (formal or informal) in leading teammates and managing complex projects, preferably in healthcare technology.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSA)
- Exceptional relationship management skills and professional demeanor with demonstrated ability to establish excellent relationships and strategic partnerships with individuals and teams at various levels and fields of expertise in multiple settings to achieve shared vision and objectives
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate, present and defend complicated issues and collaborate/partner effectively with various levels of physicians, clinicians, leaders and departments.
- Understanding of clinical practice workflows, major operating systems and processes, overall policies, procedures and objectives in a larger integrated health care delivery system.
- Demonstrated project management skills and experience managing projects from conception, planning, implementation and evaluation.
- Demonstrated experience working with clinical and technical customers, vendors, peers and management.
- Demonstrated leadership skills including management of complex projects and programs, negotiation, prioritization, team building, resource management and conflict resolution.
- Understanding of the major operating systems and processes, overall policies, procedures and objectives of an integrated health system.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
- This position requires travel, therefore, will be exposed to weather and road conditions.
- Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job.
- Exposed to a normal office environment.
