Dental Hygienist

DRESS CODE: Scrubs
TRAVEL: 10% of the time . May be assigned to a school site. Can ride with a state employee in a state vehicle. Normally will be an elementary school. Will be at the school for the entire day, not travel required during business hours.
- Using dental instruments and hygiene equipment, performing dental prophylaxis and scaling and root planning.
- Instruct patients in preventive dental techniques.
- Assisting a high number of patients as required.
- Ability to work with dentists, assistants, student assistants and volunteers.
SKILLS/EDUCATION NEEDED:
- Must have a clear and current Florida Dental Hygiene license
- Must have a current/active CPR certificate
- Knowledge of dental terminology
- Knowledge of dental hygiene principles and practices
- Skills using dental instruments and equipment and performing dental prophylaxis and scaling and root planning.
- Ability to instruct patients in preventive dental techniques.
- Ability to work with dentists, assistants, student assistants and volunteers in a way that promotes teamwork and the betterment of the residents of Marion County
Bilingual (English/Spanish) - highly preferred
Pediatric Experience - highly preferred
