Swagelok Career Development Program

The Swagelok Career Development Program is designed to develop the next generation of leaders and technical professionals within our organization. This unique program offers recent graduates from engineering, operations, or business disciplines the opportunity to gain hands-on experience and leadership skills through various operational and corporate rotations. Participants will rotate through three key assignments, each lasting 12-18 months, in their first three years of employment. The program provides exposure to areas such as operations supervision, engineering, manufacturing/assembly planning, sourcing, customer service, and human resources. These business-critical assignments offer broad, rich operational and business experiences to enable career growth, supplemented with ongoing training, development, mentoring, and support from key management associates.

Program Structure for this role

• Rotations: Participants will complete three rotations across different operational areas, each lasting 12-18 months. These rotations will provide exposure to core operations, process improvement, team management, and project execution. The third rotation will be dependent on the path the participant is hired.
• Mentorship: Each participant will be paired with an experienced leader who will provide guidance, support, and career development advice throughout the program.
• Training: Comprehensive training programs will be offered to enhance technical skills, leadership capabilities, and business acumen.
• Career Paths: Each participant will be selected for one of the following:

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

General:

• Demonstrate technical skills while rotating through three key assignments in your first three years of employment.
• Gain initial experience as you transition from college student to professional through exposure and experience to a variety of areas including (but not limited to): manufacturing/assembly engineering, quality, sourcing or customer service.

Job specific:

• Lead and support small to mid-size projects and or programs.
• Apply best practices to determine, recommend and or implement next steps.
• Review and analyze best practices to determine, recommend, and implement next steps.
• Participate and lead LEAN/CEDAC and other similar type events.
• Gain knowledge of key programs and policies that are critical to the business.
• Achieve required leadership training according to schedule.
• Present end of rotation summary to key company leaders.
• Provide technical support for other engineers.
• Interact efficiently with other functional departments.
• Support and continuously improve processes.
• Identify, create and apply best practices and standards.
• Provide analytical problem solving and process troubleshooting support in area of expertise.
• Trains engineers, technicians and non-technical associates. Actively supports the development of co-ops, technicians and engineers.
• Communicates progress through management updates and team meetings.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

Required:

• A BS Degree in mechanical, industrial, material, electrical, welding, manufacturing engineering or related field.
• Must have completed 1st rotation within Engineering Career Development Program and have shown increased scope of responsibility in learning and overall performance/competencies.

Skills:

• Advanced knowledge of engineering principles: Intermediate computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office, utilizing MRP systems, data mining & report generation).
• Ability to solve complex problems and complete multiple projects, uses advanced problem-solving methods to make decisions.
• Ability to use data to understand trends and drive results.

Working Conditions and/or Physical Requirements:

• Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
• Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
• May be required to pass pre-employment and annual Vision Acuity tests.
