Responsibilities:

Perform safe and accurate blood specimen collection using venipuncture and capillary techniques, adhering to established procedures.

Greet patients upon arrival, assist with check-in, and provide clear explanations of procedures to ensure comfort and understanding.

Maintain the integrity of the waiting area, ensuring a clean, organized, and welcoming environment.

Support cross-functional tasks such as assisting with patient queries, helping cover breaks, and providing a positive lobby experience.

Ensure proper labeling, documentation, and processing of specimens, maintaining compliance with safety and confidentiality standards.

Follow all safety protocols and infection control procedures to protect patients and staff.

Maintain accurate records of specimen collections and related documentation, contributing to the clinical workflow.

Collaborate effectively with team members and report any concerns to supervisors promptly.

Demonstrate professionalism and an exceptional level of customer service, fostering trust and confidence with patients.

Required Skills:

Proven experience in phlebotomy, preferably within a clinical, hospital, or outpatient setting.

Strong customer service skills with the ability to handle diverse patient populations with care and compassion.

Excellent communication abilities to explain procedures clearly and answer patient questions.

Proficiency in keyboard/data entry and specimen labeling to ensure accurate record-keeping.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating reliability and punctuality.

Knowledge of safety protocols, infection control, and confidentiality requirements in clinical environments.

Dependable transportation to and from the worksite within a 20-25 minute commute window.

Nice to Have Skills:

Additional certifications such as Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or comparable credentials.

Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems.

Bilingual skills to enhance communication with diverse patient populations.

Preferred Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent is required.

Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in phlebotomy and patient-facing customer service roles (retail, healthcare support, etc.).

Previous experience using self-service kiosks or handheld tablets is a plus.

Other Requirements:

Flexibility to work various shifts, including occasional weekends or evenings as scheduled.

Ability to lift, position, and handle specimens in a safe manner.

Reliable transportation is essential; candidates must be punctual and adhere to assigned schedules.

Maintain compliance with all clinical safety standards and infection control policies.
