Electrical Engineer - Medium Voltage GIS Design We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our Medium Voltage Switchgear team in Wendell, NC, focusing on SieBreak™ and 8DJH36 product lines, supporting design, documentation, and manufacturing. Responsibilities Serve as the Electrical Engineering point of contact for Siemens Medium Voltage switchgear products, including SIEBREAK™, SIEBREAK VCB™, and 8DJH36. Independently create customer- and factory‑ready electrical design documentation using Engineering Design and Configurator tools (schematics, BOMs, layouts, wiring, and one‑line drawings). Own end‑to‑end electrical deliverables, ensuring designs meet customer requirements, manufacturing needs, and Siemens quality standards. Collaborate closely with Application, Project, and Mechanical Engineers throughout the project lifecycle. Provide factory and FAT support, acting as a quality gate prior to release and resolving technical questions during manufacturing and customer acceptance. Qualifications Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with 3+ years of experience designing or drafting electrical power distribution products (switchgear experience strongly preferred). Strong knowledge of medium‑voltage protection and control systems and the ability to apply and communicate that knowledge effectively. Hands‑on experience with E‑Plan, Engineering Base, ELCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, or similar electrical drafting tools. Based in or willing to relocate to the Raleigh/Wendell, NC area; authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship. Willingness to travel internationally, including trips to Germany. Preferred Qualifications: Focus or advanced degree in Power Systems. Familiarity with ANSI, IEEE, UL, and NEMA standards for MV switchgear. Experience with Siemens 8DJH36 and SIEBREAK products or comparable MV switchgear platforms. Benefits Siemens offers a variety of health and wellness benefits. Pay range is $74,970 - $128,520 annually with a target incentive of 5% of the base salary.
