Rockford Therapy Solutions is actively seeking a dedicated and passionate Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our growing team in Syracuse, New York. In this full-time role, you will play an essential part in delivering high-quality patient care by assisting licensed Physical Therapists in the implementation of individualized treatment plans. Located within a hospital setting, we specialize in various rehabilitation services including Orthopedic Rehabilitation, Neurological Rehabilitation, Geriatric Rehabilitation, Pediatric Rehabilitation, Sports Rehabilitation, and Post-Surgical Rehabilitation. Our multidisciplinary team focuses on tailored treatment protocols, ensuring that each patient receives the most effective care for their specific needs.

Work Environment

The PTA position is onsite at our state-of-the-art facility in Syracuse, where you will work in a collaborative environment alongside a team of skilled professionals, including Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and Speech-Language Pathologists. The work hours are Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional flexibility required to meet patient needs and clinic operations. Key Responsibilities

• Assist licensed Physical Therapists in the execution of customized treatment plans, focusing on improving patients' mobility, strength, and functional outcomes.
• Guide patients through therapeutic exercises, stretches, and activities, prioritizing their physical well-being and comfort.
• Educate patients on proper body mechanics and correct exercise techniques, including the development of home exercise programs to further their rehabilitation.
• Administer therapeutic modalities such as electrical stimulation, ultrasound, and heat/cold therapy under the supervision of the Physical Therapist.
• Monitor and document patient progress meticulously, including aspects such as range of motion improvements and overall functional gains.
• Prepare treatment areas and maintain organization of equipment, ensuring that all therapy resources are readily available for use.
• Engage collaboratively with fellow healthcare providers, coordinating patient care effectively to optimize treatment outcomes.
• Provide emotional support and encouragement to patients, helping to create a motivating and positive rehabilitation environment.
• Adhere to professional and ethical standards, prioritizing patient confidentiality and respecting privacy at all times.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our patient population is diverse, ranging from pediatric patients recovering from sports injuries to geriatric patients in need of rehabilitation following orthopedic surgeries. Each therapist assistant is expected to adapt treatments and encouragement strategies to suit various age groups and physical conditions, ensuring personalized care that aligns with individual patient goals.

Qualifications

• Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• A valid state license or certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant, reflecting competency and adherence to state regulations.
• In-depth knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and the various therapeutic interventions associated with physical therapy.
• Demonstrated proficiency in executing therapeutic exercises and modalities under the guidance of a licensed Physical Therapist.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with both patients and healthcare teams.
• A compassionate, patient-centered approach, showcasing a genuine commitment to supporting patients in their rehabilitation journeys.
• Strong adaptability to varied patient needs, ensuring that treatment plans are tailored to facilitate optimal recovery.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working in a hospital or rehabilitation center environment will be a significant advantage.

Compensation and Benefits
