Cybersecurity Analyst

Job Overview We are looking for a Cybersecurity Analyst to join our Cybersecurity Scan Team in Huntsville, AL. This role focuses on scanning, vulnerability management, and security analysis of a variety of systems, including Linux, Windows, and tactical environments. Primary Responsibilities Perform regular security scans using STIGs, SCAP, and proprietary tools to assess the security posture of various systems. Conduct code scans to identify vulnerabilities in applications and software. Analyze scan results, identify potential security gaps, and prioritize vulnerabilities based on severity and impact. Generate detailed reports with actionable remediation recommendations for the customer. Track remediation progress, maintain thorough documentation of scanning processes, and stay current on cybersecurity trends. Collaborate with senior team members to ensure vulnerabilities are addressed and security requirements are met. Contribute to continuous improvement of scanning processes and methodologies for increased efficiency and effectiveness. Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field with 2+ years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree in a related field. Basic understanding of operating systems (Linux, Windows) and tactical systems. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills. Excellent communication skills with the ability to create clear and concise reports. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Must possess a Security+ CE certification (or equivalent) to meet 8570.01 IAT Level II requirements. Resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to Huntsville, AL. U.S. citizenship required and eligibility to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance. Preferred Qualifications Experience with security scanning tools such as Nessus, SCAP, Checkmarx, or other vulnerability scanning tools. Strong communication skills. Ability to work in a highly technical, team‑oriented environment that includes customers and co‑workers. Strong desire to learn and constantly improve.
