Receptionist - Department

Contribute to effective school public relations by prompt and courteous handling of all inquiries and visitors, and perform clerical duties as requested.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to operate telephone equipment
• Ability to type accurately at an acceptable rate of speed
• Ability to work with students, parents, staff, and the general public
• Knowledge of and adherence to district policies and procedures affecting assigned work

Core Job Functions:

• Greet all visitors and substitute teachers courteously, determine their needs, check appointments, and direct or escort them to the proper person
• Answer all incoming telephone calls and respond appropriately to requests for information
• Use the intercom system to call students from classes at the request of the principal
• Maintain files and records, update principal's budget and account balances
• Process a variety of forms and maintain appropriate supplies
• Perform clerical duties such as typing, sorting, distributing mail, counting and depositing money, filing, and assisting with work overflow as requested
• Order inventories and distribute supplies
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google applications
• Perform other duties as assigned that support the overall objective of the position

Physical Requirements:

• Positions in this classification often require physical activities such as stooping, kneeling, crouching, standing, walking, and sitting.
