Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for an ICU night shift position requiring strong Cardiac ICU (CCU/CVICU) experience with advanced hemodynamic and cardiac device management skills.

Details

• Work in the ICU of a hospital setting
• Care for cardiac and medical intensive care patients, with some step-down overflow
• Manage patients with advanced cardiac devices including Impella, IABP, and TVP
• Utilize CRRT, invasive lines, and hemodynamic monitoring
• Maintain a 2:1 patient ratio
• Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts (19:00-07:30)
• Float to other units and campuses as needed based on qualifications and demonstrated competencies
• Epic EMR used for charting

Requirements

• Active RN license (SC or Compact) required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of experience required, with a mix of MICU and Cardiac ICU experience; step-down experience preferred
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience within the specific unit required
• Minimum 1 year of recent Epic EMR experience required
• Experience with interpretation and management of dysrhythmias required
• Experience with post cardiac surgery care (not directly from OR) required
• Experience with pre/post cardiac catheterization and intervention required
• Experience with sheath removal required
• Skilled in ventilator management and care of ventilated patients
• Skilled in arterial line, central line, and PICC line management
• Skilled in titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips
• Skilled in continuous IV sedation and procedural sedation monitoring
• Skilled in interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs)
• Experience with blood product administration and IV therapy

Additional Information

• Provide advanced critical care nursing to cardiac and medical ICU patients with complex hemodynamic monitoring needs
• Experience with ECMO, TAVR, and Swan-Ganz monitoring is preferred
• Experience with ICP monitoring and CVA/acute stroke management is preferred
• Orientation is held every Monday
• Pre-assignment testing and required modules must be completed within 48 hours of receiving login credentials
• Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from any facility within the health system to be eligible at full pay, with reduced eligibility distances for certain exceptions
• First-time travelers are not preferred for this role
