Registered Nurse, Pre-Op/Post-Op/PACU Part Time!

Eyecare Partners Surgery Center is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for a part-time position in Pre-Op, Post-Op, PACU. This role reports to the Charge Nurse.

The RN will assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document nursing care of patients in accordance with established standards and ASC policies and procedures. This position is accountable for the quality of nursing services delivered by self or others who are under his/her direction. The RN will participate in direct patient care and maintain a clean, orderly, and safe environment.

Essential duties and responsibilities include supervising and directing patient care in an individual Operating Room, ensuring proper techniques and practices are used, complying with HIPAA regulations, performing duties ethically and legally, supervising other personnel, reporting unusual occurrences, demonstrating primary nursing accountability, maintaining medical records accurately, participating in continuing education and staff meetings, following physician orders, participating in a healthy work environment, assisting in training new staff, balancing team and individual responsibilities, recognizing each department's significance, and working appropriately with other departments.

Qualifications include the ability to assess, prioritize, plan, and implement patient care effectively, responding to emergent situations, demonstrating a positive, friendly, courteous, and professional manner, maintaining effective communication with patients, families, physicians, and other staff, working within a team, having good communication skills, being organized, managing time effectively, working independently and within a group, and having minimal absences.

Education and/or experience required include a graduate of an accredited Nursing Program, one year of previous nursing experience in surgical, ambulatory surgical center (ASC), Pre/Post-Op, PACU, ICU, Medical Surgical, Telemetry, or Operating Room settings, and a current Registered Nurse (RN) License required in the state where the worksite is located.

Licenses and credentials required include Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and knowledge of Amkai Office and Amkai Charts Database software, patient monitoring and emergency equipment, and proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, printer, copier, telephone, and fax.

Physical requirements include frequent walking, sitting, and standing, with regular bending, stooping, and reaching, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling items up to 25 lbs, strong fine motor skills, full use of hands, visual and auditory acuity, and occasional driving or climbing.
