Behavioral Health Registered Nurse (RN)

Night Shift: 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30)

Job Description

The Behavioral Health Registered Nurse will be responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to young adult patients aged 18 to 30 with psychiatric disorders. This includes therapeutic communication, medication administration, and clinical direction of Mental Health Workers. The RN will work closely with the treatment team to ensure effective patient treatment plans and psychosocial support.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualized care plans.
• Administer prescribed medical treatments and medications.
• Provide psychosocial support to patients and their families.
• Document and report patient progress to the treatment team.
• Supervise and guide Mental Health Workers in daily patient care activities.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current RN license in the State of Maryland or a compact state.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a psychiatric nursing setting.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
• Prior charge nurse experience preferred.
• Experience with Allscripts (Sunrise) electronic medical record system preferred.
