Registered Nurse (RN) - Progressive Care Unit (PCU)

Job TitleJob DescriptionKey Responsibilities:Deliver direct nursing care to PCU patients with complex, evolving, and acute medical/surgical conditions.Interpret and continuously monitor telemetry, cardiac rhythms, and vital signs.Administer prescribed medications, IV therapies, pain management, and blood products.Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and adjust care plans accordingly.Coordinate discharge planning and collaborate with an interdisciplinary healthcare team.Educate patients and families on diagnosis, treatment plans, and recovery.Qualifications:Education: Associate's Degree or Diploma in Registered Nursing required. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or MSN preferred.Licensure: Active, unencumbered RN license to practice in the state of Virginia (or compact state).Experience: Minimum of 18 months of RN med/surg or acute care experience (New grads may qualify for Sentara's Nurse Residency programs).Certifications: BLS (AHA) and ACLS (AHA) required.
