Registered Nurse (RN) - Cath Lab

Cath Lab PACU RN

Schedule: 3 x 12-hour day shifts

Requirements:

• Valid OK or Compact RN license required
• Minimum 1 year of critical care experience
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH/NIHSS
• Key clinical skills include:
• Cath lab recovery and groin site/hemostasis management
• Monitoring procedural sedation; recovery from general anesthesia to moderate sedation
• Critical care skills: hemodynamic monitoring, IV vasopressors, dysrhythmia recognition/management
• Post-procedure care: sheath removal/monitoring, 12-lead ECGs
• Exposure to interventional cardiac procedures/devices

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Monitor patients in the PACU following cath lab procedures.
• Manage groin site and ensure hemostasis post-procedure.
• Provide recovery care for patients coming out of general anesthesia or moderate sedation.
• Administer medications per protocol and manage intravenous therapy.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Educate patients and families on post-procedure care and recovery instructions.

Compliance / Notes:

• Orientation: 40 hours
• Travelers may be expected to float to like units within their scope as needed.
