About the Position

Job Title: Medical Surgical Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night 3x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 Year Required License: Compact License Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: - Prior experience in a similar clinical setting. - Ability to float between units. - Weekend availability required (4 shifts in a 6-week period). Description: The position requires the ability to manage and provide care to a diverse adult and geriatric patient population. Daily patient ratios are expected to be around 1:4. The successful candidate will assist with administering medications and treatments as per established protocols. Candidate must be capable of accessing and managing various types of intravenous ports. Experience with a variety of procedural skills, including but not limited to, blood product administration, central line management, and wound care, is essential. The role will involve collaboration with interdisciplinary teams, including pharmacy, social services, and respiratory therapy. Additional duties may include patient education, documentation in the electronic health record system, and participation in rapid response teams. Candidates must demonstrate effective communication skills and a commitment to patient care and safety. Shift scheduling is self-determined within the parameters of the unit's needs. Weekend work is mandatory as specified in the job requirements. The facility calls for adherence to the dress code, which includes solid-colored uniforms.
