Orlando Health is seeking a Certified Lab Phlebotomist to join our laboratory team and play a vital role in patient care through accurate specimen collection and exceptional customer service. In this role, you'll spend the majority of your time performing phlebotomy procedures while working closely with patients, physicians, nurses, and laboratory team members to support quality diagnostic services.Position Highlights:Perform laboratory specimen collection following established policies and proceduresUtilize phlebotomy skills in both inpatient and outpatient settingsCoordinate specimen collection and ensure proper handling and processingSupport patient registration and documentation activitiesPerform peripheral IV insertions and bedside testing as neededMaintain positive patient and customer service interactionsServe as a liaison between laboratory services and clinical departmentsAssist with quality improvement initiatives and regulatory complianceParticipate in outreach phlebotomy services when requiredMaintain laboratory supplies, safety standards, and infection prevention practicesWhat You'll Bring:Strong phlebotomy and patient interaction skillsExcellent attention to detail and specimen-handling accuracyAbility to work independently and in a fast-paced environmentStrong communication and customer service skillsKnowledge of laboratory information systems, specimen processing, and healthcare workflowsCommitment to quality, safety, and patient-centered careMinimum Qualifications:High School Diploma or equivalentCurrent CPR CertificationPhlebotomy Certification through one of the following: American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) National Phlebotomy Association (NPA) American Society of Phlebotomy Technicians (ASPT) Equivalent certification program that includes a phlebotomy rotation with a minimum of 100 patient collections and continuing education requirementsAt Orlando Health, our team members are dedicated to providing exceptional care and service to our patients and communities.
