Position Overview

McKinnon's Market is seeking a friendly, dependable, and customer-focused Deli Associate to join our team in Salem, NH . This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, preparing fresh food, assisting customers, and maintaining an organized, clean department.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service by assisting customers with deli selections and special orders
• Prepare, package, slice, and stock deli meats, cheeses, salads, and prepared foods
• Maintain attractive, well-stocked, and organized deli displays
• Price, label, and rotate products to ensure freshness and quality
• Safely operate slicers, knives, and other food preparation equipment
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health regulations
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, including equipment and display cases
• Assist with receiving deliveries and stocking inventory
• Work collaboratively with fellow team members to provide an outstanding shopping experience

Qualifications

• Previous deli, grocery, food service, or customer service experience preferred
• Basic knowledge of deli products and food preparation techniques
• Ability to safely operate knives, slicers, and other food preparation equipment
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Dependable with a positive attitude and strong work ethic

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (8–10 hour shifts)
• Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and lift products as needed
• Comfortable working in refrigerated environments
• Ability to safely use box cutters, knives, and food preparation equipment
• Ability to lift and move merchandise throughout the shift

Compensation & Benefits

• $16–$19 per hour (Negotiable based on experience and fit)
