We are hiring Part-Time Phlebotomist

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and blood draws using straight needles and butterfly needles, ensuring safe and efficient collection from pediatric (ages 2+), adult, and geriatric patients.
• Explain venipuncture, blood draw, and other specimen collection procedures (such as urine or fecal collection) clearly and courteously to patients to ensure understanding and comfort.
• Collect, label, and store specimens according to established procedures and specific test requirements to maintain specimen integrity.
• Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes and verify all information to ensure 100% accuracy before processing.

Essential Skills

• At least 2 years of experience as a phlebotomist.
• Proficiency in venipuncture and blood drawing using straight needles, including recent and consistent experience.
• Experience drawing blood from pediatric (ages 2+), adult, and geriatric patients.
• Strong phlebotomy skills including blood collection, labeling, and handling of specimens.

Work Environment

This is a part-time role of approximately 20 hours per week in a clinical setting. The schedule requires availability between 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. on weekdays, along with open availability on weekends and holidays to support patient needs. Initial training will be a one week on a full-time schedule, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Itasca, IL.

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $23.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Itasca,IL.
