JQ is looking for a mid-level Azure DevOps Engineer to replace a contractor who moved to the FinOps team. The need is focused on DevOps and Infrastructure as Code, not AI or FinOps.

Must-Have Skills

• Strong Azure DevOps experience
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
• Terraform
• CI/CD pipeline creation and maintenance
• Release management and automation
• Experience scaling and organizing DevOps environments

Nice-to-Haves

• Basic web development for simple static pages
• General Azure cloud engineering knowledge
• Exposure to AWS and Ansible

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Mid-level (not junior)
• Approximately 7-8+ years of experience
• Stronger DevOps background than pure cloud engineering
• Comfortable partnering with security teams
• Able to maintain code repositories, pipelines, and automation at scale

Project Environment

• IaC footprint has grown significantly and needs governance.
• Team is building a DevOps center of excellence and increasing automation.
• Future work may expand into AWS and Ansible Automation Platform initiatives.

Contract Details

• Long-term contract opportunity
• Previous contractor was there about 1.5 years
• Potential for future conversion, but not guaranteed
• Hybrid schedule, generally 2 days onsite in NYC

Job Description-

Overview

Seeking a mid-level Azure DevOps Engineer to support and scale enterprise cloud infrastructure and DevOps initiatives. This individual will focus on Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD pipelines, automation, and DevOps governance across Azure environments. The ideal candidate brings strong Azure DevOps expertise and experience managing infrastructure at scale.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain Azure DevOps pipelines
• Manage and support Infrastructure as Code (IaC) environments using Terraform
• Implement and maintain CI/CD processes and automated testing workflows
• Partner with security and engineering teams to ensure compliant release management practices
• Monitor and maintain cloud infrastructure code repositories
• Support automation and self-service deployment initiatives
• Help establish standards, governance, and best practices for DevOps operations
• Contribute to cloud engineering initiatives across Azure and potentially AWS environments

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of IT experience with at least 3+ years focused on Azure DevOps
• Strong hands-on experience with Azure DevOps
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
• Terraform experience
• Experience creating and managing CI/CD pipelines
• Understanding of cloud infrastructure and deployment automation
• Experience with source control, code management, and DevOps best practices
• Strong communication and collaboration skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Azure cloud services
• Experience supporting cloud infrastructure at enterprise scale
• Basic web development experience for static web pages
• AWS exposure
• Experience with Ansible or automation platforms
• Experience working in highly regulated enterprise environments
