ETL Tester

ETL TesterWe are looking for an experienced Test Engineer to develop and execute test plans for high-quality software delivery. The role involves creating test strategies, writing automated test scripts, performing test execution, and defect tracking, specifically for data warehousing and reporting. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in SQL, UNIX, Control-M, Control Center, and Ab Initio (ETL testing). Excellent communication, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently are essential.Key Responsibilities:Define the approach for validating capabilities and functionalities.Develop testing strategies and test plans, covering functional testing, regression testing, negative testing, deployment testing, ETL job execution (Control-M/Control Center), and error handling.Collaborate with business teams to gather requirements and ensure alignment.Work with the operations team to coordinate the build, deployment, and execution within the test environment.Track defects, report on testing progress, and provide regular status updates.Demonstrate expertise in SQL, UNIX, Control-M, Control Center, and ETL tools (Ab Initio).Review and analyze code base using Ab Initio Psets, graphs (.mp), and XFR files.Utilize Ab Initio’s Test Data Management (TDM) tool to mock up and upload test data.Qualifications:Proven experience with test strategy and execution in data warehousing environments.Strong skills in SQL, UNIX, Control-M, and Ab Initio (including Test Data Management).Ability to analyze and understand complex code and systems.Strong communication skills and attention to detail.Ability to work independently while managing deadlines and project expectations.
