Medical Laboratory Scientist II Blood Bank

Location and Shift BSW All Saints Medical Center Ft Worth TX Department: Laboratory - Blood Bank Shift: Night 7on7off 12am - 10:30am Preferred Experience Must hold ASCP certification or an equivalent credential as an MLS generalist. A minimum of at least 2 years of experience in a hospital blood bank lab setting. Job Summary The Med Lab Scientist 2 performs and monitors a full range of lab tests and research. Assumes responsibility for problem resolution, quality control, and equipment maintenance with minimal supervision. Essential Functions Performs laboratory tests in compliance with department procedures and all pertinent regulatory requirements. Follows quality control, quality assurance, safety, and infection control procedures. Performs instrument maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting. Accurately reports test results. Maintains appropriate inventory of supplies. Maintains effective communication and working relationships with all laboratory personnel, other disciplines, and external customers. Participates in laboratory projects and educational activities. Demonstrates and educates laboratory methods and technical skills to others.
