Role Description The Respiratory Therapist role at Rotech Healthcare is a full-time, on-site position based in Methuen, MA. In this role, the therapist provides direct respiratory care services, including patient assessment, equipment setup, and ongoing monitoring for therapies such as home oxygen, ventilators, and sleep apnea devices. Daily responsibilities include educating patients and caregivers on proper equipment use, safety protocols, and treatment adherence, while collaborating with physicians and clinical teams to optimize care plans. The therapist documents patient encounters, maintains accurate records in accordance with regulatory and company standards, and supports equipment troubleshooting and follow-up visits. The role also involves participating in quality improvement efforts, adhering to infection control practices, and delivering professional, compassionate service to patients in the home care setting. Qualifications Demonstrated expertise in Respiratory Therapy and Respiratory Care, with the ability to assess, treat, and monitor patients receiving home respiratory services. Solid understanding of Cardiopulmonary concepts and Medicine as they apply to respiratory conditions and home-based treatment plans. Experience or familiarity with Neonatal Intensive Care practices is beneficial, particularly in managing complex respiratory cases for younger patients. Current state licensure as a Respiratory Therapist (or eligibility to obtain licensure in Massachusetts), and graduation from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program. Professional certifications such as RRT or CRT, BLS/CPR, and advanced life support credentials are preferred. Strong patient education, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and independently in the field. Knowledge of home medical equipment, durable medical equipment (DME) regulations, and documentation standards for insurance and Medicare compliance.
