Plumber

PlumberThe Plumber is responsible for the operation and maintenance of all plumbing systems as assigned. High School Graduate or GED required. Journeyman's license required; may be substituted for irrigation license and or 5 years plumbing experience. Master license preferred. Able to read blueprints and schematics. Must have and maintain a valid driver's license and be insurable.Major responsibilities include maintaining all plumbing systems in good working condition, performing services needed for plumbing such as repairing water leaks, repairing or replacing pipes, equipment, or fixtures, making minor installations as directed by supervisor, maintaining heating equipment in compliance with all Federal-State Commission and Insurance requirements, performing irrigation duties as assigned by supervisor, performing all duties in a safe manner to avoid injury to oneself and/or to others, and performing other related duties as assigned.Equipment used includes district vehicle, two-way radio, backhoe, trenching machine, rooter rotor, electric hand tools, and soldering torch.Working conditions involve frequent district travel, strenuous bending, climbing, and walking, working in extreme weather conditions, working on slippery uneven surfaces, and exposure to toxic fumes and chemicals.Nondiscrimination Statement: Edinburg CISD does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, disability or age in its programs or activities and provides equal access to the Boy Scouts and other designated youth groups.
