Inhospital Physicians Corp
Job Description
The Opportunity
\nA day hospitalist line at a 139-bed Prime Healthcare hospital in Michigan's Blue Water Area, working with APP support and an open ICU running around four patients with 24/7 tele-intensivist coverage behind it. Call is 1-in-3 and built into the salary rather than bolted on. Port Huron itself is waterfront — boating, beaches, and a cost of living that makes a hospitalist salary go considerably further than it does downstate.
\nWhat You'll Own
\n- \n
- A day census shared with APP support rather than carried alone. \n
- An open ICU of roughly four patients , with 24/7 tele-intensivist coverage for the decisions you want a second opinion on. \n
- 1-in-3 call , included in the salary rather than an unpriced add-on. \n
- A day-shift line — this is not a nocturnist role. \n
Must-Haves
\n- \n
- MD or DO \n
- Board certified or board eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine \n
- Michigan license, or eligibility in process \n
Nice to Have
\n- \n
- Prior open-ICU or tele-intensivist collaboration \n
- APP collaboration experience \n
- Epic familiarity \n
What Working Here Is Actually Like
\n- \n
- $260,000 salary with a $30,000 bonus . \n
- Full W-2 benefits. Medical, dental and vision from the first of the month after hire; employer-paid life at 1x salary up to $300,000; employer-paid long-term disability at 60% of salary; 401(k). The benefit plan year runs 1 October to 30 September. \n
- Malpractice and tail both covered. Tail is the one people forget to ask about until they leave. \n
- Epic. \n
- 24/7 tele-intensivist support on a small open ICU. \n
- Physician-owned and physician-managed since 2012. When you escalate a problem, it reaches a physician who still works clinical shifts. \n
- Not a locums agency. An ongoing program position with a named, stable team. \n
- Waterfront living on Lake Huron and the St. Clair River , with Metro Detroit an easy drive. \n
- Licensure is faster than you expect if you're coming from out of state. Michigan participates in the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact, so if you already hold a qualifying license elsewhere, adding this one typically runs one to three weeks rather than months. \n
Straight Talk
\nCall is 1-in-3 and it is inside the salary — that's a real obligation, and worth weighing against a base that looks straightforward. An open ICU also means you co-manage critically ill patients rather than handing them off, with tele-intensivist support rather than someone at the bedside.
\nAbout Inhospital Physicians (IHP): IHP is a physician-owned and physician-managed group, headquartered in Blue Bell, Pennsylvania and operating since 2012, running Emergency Medicine, Hospitalist, Intensivist and post-acute programs for acute-care hospitals, LTACHs and health systems across multiple states.
