Job Summary:
The Cashier is responsible for processing customer transactions accurately and efficiently while delivering friendly, responsive customer service. This role supports daily store operations by maintaining an organized checkout area and assisting customers with purchases, questions, and returns.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process payments (cash, credit/debit, checks, coupons) and provide accurate change and receipts.

• Greet customers, answer questions, and assist with product location, pricing, and store procedures.

• Handle returns, exchanges, and refunds in accordance with company policy.

• Operate cash registers, scanners, and related equipment.

• Verify pricing, promotions, and age requirements for restricted items.

• Bag merchandise and maintain a clean, organized checkout area.

• Assist with stocking, displays, and general store support as needed.

• Complete register balancing and required sales records.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED preferred.

• Previous cashier or customer service experience preferred (minimum 3 months).

• Basic math, communication, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to handle transactions accurately and provide excellent customer service.

• Reliable, detail-oriented, and team-focused.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment:

• Ability to stand for extended periods.

• Frequent lifting up to 25 lbs; occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.

• Regular use of hands for scanning, handling items, and operating equipment.

• Occasional bending, reaching, and crouching.

• Exposure to moderate noise, moving equipment, and varying temperatures.
