Job Title: Machine Operator Job Description

This role operates press machines, press brakes, and related industrial manufacturing equipment to form, bend, and shape metal components according to precise specifications. The position requires strong technical ability, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

• Set up and operate press machines and CNC/manual press brake equipment to form, bend, and shape metal components according to specifications.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions to ensure accurate and precise production.
• Adjust machine settings, tooling, and fixtures to achieve required dimensions and tight tolerances.
• Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and tape measures.
• Monitor machine performance and product output to ensure consistency with quality and production standards.
• Troubleshoot minor mechanical and operational issues and make appropriate adjustments to maintain production efficiency.
• Conduct routine maintenance and basic upkeep on machines to keep equipment in good working condition.
• Handle raw materials and finished products, including loading and unloading metal components safely and efficiently.
• Use hand tools and measuring devices to support setup, adjustment, and inspection activities.
• Maintain accurate production, inspection, and quality records in accordance with company procedures.
• Follow all safety guidelines, OSHA standards, and company policies while working in a manufacturing environment.
• Support lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in line with 5S standards.
• Work collaboratively with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and resolve issues promptly.

• At least 2 years of experience operating press machines, press brakes, or similar industrial manufacturing equipment, preferably in automotive, aggregates, or heavy manufacturing environments.
• Strong understanding of metal forming processes and industrial machinery operation.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and detailed work instructions.
• Proficiency using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and tape measures.
• Basic mechanical aptitude with the ability to identify and troubleshoot minor equipment issues.
• Demonstrated commitment to safety and adherence to quality standards.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as collaboratively within a team.
• Comfort working in a fast-paced production environment with changing priorities.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, with or without assistance.
• Ability to perform frequent bending, lifting, and material handling tasks.
• Comfort working in a manufacturing environment with noise and varying temperatures.

• Experience in automotive, aggregates, or heavy manufacturing environments.
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement practices.
• Experience maintaining production and quality documentation.
• Exposure to 5S or similar workplace organization programs.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in measurements and documentation.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality in accordance with company attendance policies.

The position is based in a large indoor manufacturing facility that is non-climate controlled, with large fans and active air circulation to support airflow. The building is equipped with large overhead cranes throughout the production area to assist with material handling. Break areas, restrooms, and office spaces are air-conditioned to provide a comfortable space during breaks and administrative tasks. The environment includes typical manufacturing noise levels and varying temperatures, and the role requires extended periods of standing, frequent bending, and regular lifting of materials up to 50 pounds.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Antonio, TX.

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
