Position Summary

We are looking for a professional, outgoing, and knowledgeable Mobile Cigar Bartender / Cigar Event Specialist to represent our cigar catering business at private parties, weddings, corporate events, celebrations, and other special occasions.

This is an as-needed, event-based position. Work opportunities will be available as events are booked. The number of events and hours may vary depending on our event schedule and customer demand. This position is ideal for someone looking for flexible work and enjoys working at special events.

The ideal candidate is passionate about cigars, enjoys interacting with people, and can provide a high-quality cigar experience while representing our company in a professional manner.

Applicants must be 21 years of age or older to be considered for this position.

Responsibilities

• Travel to event locations throughout San Diego County and surrounding areas.
• Arrive on time and assist with setup and breakdown of the mobile cigar bar.
• Set up cigars, ashtrays, cutters, torches, displays, and other equipment.
• Welcome guests and provide a friendly, professional cigar experience.
• Educate guests about different cigars and help them select a cigar based on their preferences.
• Properly cut and light cigars for guests.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional cigar station throughout the event.
• Monitor cigar inventory and supplies during each event.
• Interact comfortably with both experienced cigar smokers and guests who are new to cigars.
• Represent the company professionally and provide excellent customer service.
• Handle company equipment responsibly, including cutters, torches, ashtrays, tables, displays, and cigar inventory.

Cigar Knowledge

Candidates with experience in the cigar industry are strongly preferred. A strong candidate should have a basic understanding of:

• Cigar brands and varieties
• Cigar sizes and shapes
• Cigar wrappers and flavor profiles
• Cigar strength
• Proper cutting and lighting techniques

Event Schedule, Availability, & Compensation

This is an as-needed, event-based position. Employees will be scheduled based on the events that are booked.

• Events may be scheduled on evenings, weekends, holidays, and weekdays.
• The number of available shifts will vary based on event bookings.
• Employees will be contacted regarding upcoming events and may accept events based on their availability.
• Flexibility and reliable availability are highly valued.
• Pay is $50 per hour, plus tips.
• There are no guaranteed hours, as scheduling is dependent on the number and timing of events booked.

Event length will generally be approximately 2.5 hours, in addition to required setup, breakdown, and travel time as applicable.
