Join Us as a Chemical Formulation Batch Technician

Step into a high-impact role on our production floor where precision, safety, and teamwork drive every batch. You’ll start your day reviewing batch records and work orders, preparing raw materials, setting up mixers, and coordinating with your supervisor to prioritize the queue. From charging vessels and dialing in mix speeds to verifying temperatures and run times, you’re the steady hand that turns formulas into finished product—safely and consistently.

What a Typical Day Looks Like

• Examine batch sheets, formulas, and production instructions, then stage materials for blending.
• Measure and weigh components with accuracy, applying conversions and ratios as needed.
• Operate blenders, mixers, and agitators; track RPMs, temperature, and process timing throughout the run.
• Move raw materials and finished goods using forklifts, pallet jacks, and drum-handling equipment.
• Document weights, lot numbers, and batch details to maintain full traceability.
• Fill, package, and label product according to specifications.
• Clean and sanitize tanks, vessels, and equipment between batches to avoid cross-contamination.
• Perform in-process checks and escalate any deviations or quality concerns immediately.
• Flag equipment abnormalities and work with your supervisor to resolve issues quickly.
• Adhere to SOPs, GMP, and company safety practices at all times; keep the area orderly and hazard-free.

Reporting Structure

Reports To: Production Supervisor

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 3+ years as a blender, mixer, compounder, or similar role in chemical or industrial manufacturing.
• Comfortable interpreting batch instructions and written procedures.
• Solid math aptitude for calculations, conversions, and proportions.
• Forklift certified or willing to become certified after hire.
• Hands-on experience working safely with hazardous chemicals under OSHA/HAZMAT guidelines.
• Ability to read and apply Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
• Consistent attendance and flexibility to work overtime when production demands.

Preferred Experience

• Background in chemicals, coatings, adhesives, lubricants, specialty chemicals, or related manufacturing.
• Training such as HAZWOPER, DOT Hazardous Materials, or RCRA.
• Experience with automated batching or bulk liquid transfer systems.
• Exposure to QC checks like pH, viscosity, specific gravity, and lot traceability practices.

Physical Demands

• Ability to routinely lift and handle up to 50 pounds .
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, stooping, and climbing during the shift.
• Safely maneuver drums and totes with forklifts, pallet jacks, and drum-handling tools.
• Comfort working around chemicals, fumes, odors, temperature variation, and industrial equipment.
• Use of required PPE including respirators, gloves, goggles, face shields, and protective garments.

Schedule & Compensation

• Full-Time; overtime and occasional weekends based on production volume.

Pay: Up to $26.00 per hour
