Benefits PPO medical plan, available day one at no cost for full‑time employee‑only coverage Paid Time Off, available day one Retirement Programs through the Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS) Paid Parental Leave Benefit Wellness programs Tuition Reimbursement Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) as a qualified employer Learn more about these and other UTSW employee benefits Experience and Education Education : Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Physiology Experience : 2 years of relevant experience Licenses and Certifications : BLS (Basic Life Support) within 90 days; ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) within 90 days Preferred Master’s Degree in Exercise Physiology Job Duties Demonstrate principles of exercise and disease management, applying good clinical judgment and progressing patients safely; provide education to patients and families about disease processes. Perform and document physical, psychosocial, and emotional assessments during initial evaluation; identify appropriate interventions and write a complete plan of care with specific, time‑based goals. Re‑evaluate the plan of care and exercise program, monitoring patient progress and reporting any physical changes to the physician promptly. Prepare patients for discharge, ensuring that rehabilitation goals have been met and that patients and families understand available resources and needs. Improve departmental standards of care by updating educational materials and providing in‑service training to staff. Organize patient treatment times and deliver patient education. Document all aspects of patient care and the continued need for rehabilitation. Report errors promptly and take appropriate follow‑up action to rectify them. Serve as patient and family advocate, responding to complaints and reporting them to the manager or designee in a timely manner; use the chain of command to resolve issues. Assist willingly with coverage of other patients, perform insurance verification and re‑verification, and support other departmental paperwork as needed. Participate in performance improvement activities, attend at least 80 % of scheduled staff meetings and 100 % of mandatory educational sessions, and assist in on‑job training, education, and supervision of students or graduate nurses. Perform other duties as assigned.
