Job Purpose and Summary As a Pharmacy Technician, you support the pharmacy team in delivering operational and service excellence within your store. You are often the first point of contact for our patients and customers, ensuring prescriptions are filled promptly, safely and accurately while providing exceptional service that exceeds patient expectations. You apply pharmacy SOPs, best practices, and effective communication throughout your shifts to contribute to a safe and inclusive culture. Responsibilities Follow all company SOPs at each workstation to help Pharmacists manage and improve patient health. Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at each pharmacy workstation (production, pick‑up, drive‑through, drop‑off) for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment. Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care, creating heartfelt moments, and solving or escalating patient problems. Perform basic inventory activities such as accurately putting away medication deliveries, completing cycle counts, returns‑to‑stocks, awaiting bin inventories, etc. Seek opportunities to expand clinical and technical knowledge to better assist patients. Adapt scheduling to meet business needs, including traveling to stores in the market as required. Comply with all relevant federal, state, and local laws, regulations, professional standards, and ethical principles; uphold CVS policies and procedures to ensure patient safety and privacy. Deliver additional patient health care services (e.g., immunizations, point‑of‑care testing, and optionally staffing offsite clinics) when allowable by law and supported by required training and certification. Immunization Responsibilities (if eligible) Complete additional licensure and training requirements to obtain Technician Immunizer status. Educate patients about the importance of vaccines and refer them to the on‑duty Pharmacist for vaccination questions. Monitor for and respond to adverse reactions; report events per public health requirements. Review and collect patient information; track and document for each applicable patient. Monitor and manage vaccine supplies. Required Qualifications Comply with state board of pharmacy requirements or laws governing pharmacy practice, including age, education, and licensure or certification. If no state minimum education is specified, have a high school diploma or equivalent, or be actively enrolled in high school or a high school equivalency program. Complete required training within the designated timeframe. Attention and Focus – concentrate on tasks, pivot quickly, confirm prescription information and label accuracy to ensure patient safety. Customer Service and Team Orientation – look for ways to help people, respond appropriately to patient reactions. Communication Skills – use verbal and written communication effectively; practice active listening and appropriate questioning. Mathematical Reasoning – solve problems such as determining total tablets to dispense, day’s supply, and number of bottles needed. Problem Resolution – identify challenging interactions and choose the best course of action. Physical Demands – be mobile, lift items, reach overhead, type or work primarily with fingers; lift up to 20 lbs occasionally and 10 lbs frequently. Perform any additional tasks as directed by Supervisor or Manager. Preferred Qualifications 1–3 years previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician. Experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting. Ability to work in the home store and across the market in other locations to meet business needs. Anticipated Weekly Hours : 29 Time Type : Part time Pay Range $18.90 – $28.90 per hour (base hourly rate or full‑time salary; actual offer depends on experience, education and geography).
