Summary
Provides daily or weekly cleaning services such as making beds; vacuuming; cleaning bathrooms, tub, and sink; dusting; emptying trash receptacles; and cleaning patient rooms to promote a clean, clutter-free, and odor-free environment.

Job Duties

• Disinfects and sterilizes equipment such as mops, brooms, and cleaning materials such as cloths.
• Keeps all public restrooms clean and stocked with appropriate supplies for the convenience of residents, staff, and visitors.
• Empties all wastebasket and trash receptacles to maintain an odor-free and sanitary environment.
• Keeps management informed of clean rooms that are ready for occupancy.
• Cleans all windows with a glass cleaner daily.
• Removes dust from horizontal surfaces with a high duster.
• Handles and keeps all chemicals under lock and key when not in use for the safety of the residents.
• Observes and reports the need to repair equipment, furniture, and fixtures.

Minimum Qualifications

• Less than 1 year
• Ability to interpret and adhere to union policies and procedures.
• Ability to understand and follow instructions.
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and equipment.

Preferred Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED

Physical Demands
Lift and carry 40-50 lbs. Examples: Push/pull patients on bed, stretcher (requires 29 lbs. push force), lateral transfers up to 50 lbs. of the patient's weight. Frequent to continuous standing/walking. Patient transporters can walk 8-10 miles per shift. *Patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR.
