Sr Manager, Technical Project Management – Req ID: 10153603 Overview Disney Experiences Technology builds and operates the digital and physical Guest experiences that touch millions of Guests across theme parks, resorts, cruise ships, and unique vacation experiences every year. The Commerce portfolio sits at the center of that experience — powering how Guests discover, plan, and purchase their Disney experiences. The Sr Manager, Technical Project Management is part of the Disney Experiences Technology team and is responsible for leading the delivery of multiple Commerce initiatives spanning web, mobile, and business applications. This leader manages a multi-tier team of managers of project management, individual‑contributor project managers, and third‑party partners executing large‑scale software development programs, partnering closely with Product, Engineering, Design, and Business stakeholders to deliver capabilities on time, on budget, and on scope. In addition to delivery oversight, the role establishes standards and refines the tools, templates, and playbooks that scale the practice of technical project management across the portfolio — including the adoption of AI‑assisted delivery tooling and modern Agile practices. The position drives transparent communication across portfolio and finance partners to enable informed investment decisions and clear executive visibility into program health. The Sr Manager, Technical Project Management reports to the Director, Technical Project Management for the DXT Commerce portfolio. What You’ll Love About This Role Direct ownership of the delivery practice for Commerce — you set the standards, build the playbooks, and shape how technical project management is done across the portfolio. A modernization mandate — you’ll lead the team’s adoption of AI‑assisted delivery tooling for end‑of‑sprint reporting, PI health, predictive risk, and program analytics. Visibility and influence — regular partnership with Directors, VPs, and SVPs across Product, Engineering, Finance, and Portfolio. A team of experienced project managers and managers of project management to develop, grow, and retain. Scale of impact — your programs ship Guest‑facing capabilities that millions of Disney Guests use every year. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Team Management – Lead, mentor, and develop a team of cast and third‑party project managers and managers of project management to deliver large‑scale programs with operational excellence; lead hiring, onboarding, retention, and succession planning; sponsor process improvements and drive adoption of Agile, Scrum, and AI‑assisted delivery practices; set performance expectations and identify training needs. Program Planning & Delivery – Lead cross‑functional programs through the full delivery lifecycle, ensuring on‑time, on‑budget, on‑scope delivery; own resource assignment, budget, scheduling, scope prioritization, and risk management; use delivery metrics to drive performance and forecast accuracy; partner with engineering leadership to integrate AI, automation, and modern engineering principles; support RFI/RFP processes and validate vendor payments. Stakeholder & Financial Communication – Communicate regular program updates to project and executive leadership; partner with portfolio and finance to maintain accurate forecasts; serve as the primary liaison among Product Management, Design, Engineering, vendors, and other key delivery partners; ensure proper program closure and final financial reporting. Required Qualifications & Skills 10+ years of experience in technical program or project management, including at least 5 years in a people‑leadership role managing large, multidisciplinary teams. Proven track record managing multiple concurrent projects and full software delivery lifecycles in a matrixed organization. Direct accountability for project budgets and budget roll‑up across a portfolio of programs. Significant practical experience in the fundamentals of project management (estimation, planning, resource planning, risk, issue, and change management) with proven proficiency in Agile/Scrum; experience with scaled frameworks (SAFe, LeSS) a plus. Hands‑on proficiency with AI‑assisted delivery tooling and a track record of applying it to advanced project management use cases to drive faster, better‑informed delivery decisions. Proven ability to manage complex, multi‑stakeholder programs across competing priorities, dependencies, and shifting business needs. Excellent business communication, writing, and interpersonal skills, with confidence presenting to senior executive leadership. Sound judgment on when to seek guidance and when to escalate, with a proactive, solution‑oriented approach to issues. Ability to work collaboratively and independently while sustaining high productivity in fast‑paced, high‑pressure environments. Required Education Bachelor’s Degree in a related field of study or equivalent work experience; Master’s Degree a plus. PMP, PgMP, and/or Certified Scrum Professional (CSP) certification preferred. Compensation & Benefits The hiring range for this position in Orlando, Florida is $175,000–$210,000 per year. A bonus and/or long‑term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered. #J-18808-Ljbffr
