Job Description & Requirements Specialty: CVICU Discipline: RN Start Date: ASAP Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse (RN) - CVICU Job Description We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse to join our Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU). The role involves providing critical care to patients in a fast-paced environment, specializing in post-operative cardiac surgery care and advanced cardiac devices. Unit Specifics Number of Beds: 16 Patient Ratios: 1:2, 1:1 for select device patients Staffing Description: Free floating charge nurse and unit secretary available during weekdays, with tech support provided by Administrative Care Technicians and Student Nurse Externs. Type of Equipment: Phillips bedside telemetry monitors, Hill-Rom beds, Alaris IV pumps Documentation System: Meditech Scheduling Requirements: Must work 2 weekends per month and 1 summer holiday. Also required to work 2 winter holidays. Floating Policy: Employees may float to other ICU units or floors as needed. Required Skills and Certifications Must Have: Strong critical care experience, including CVICU experience. Advanced Skills: Proficiency in PA catheter and hemodynamic monitoring. Experience with IABP, Impella, and CRRT is preferable. Procedures Performed: Care for immediate post-operative cardiac surgery patients, including support for ECMO, Centrimags, and HM3 LVADS. Ability to perform central line insertion, Swan-Ganz insertion, and intubations. Certifications Required: ACLS, BLS Dress Code Required uniform includes scrubs in black, red, or galaxy blue. Scrub jackets and vests are permitted.
