Registered Nurse - Operating Room

Job Description

Job Summary:
Seeking a skilled registered nurse with operating room experience to provide surgical patient care in a community hospital or Level 2 trauma facility. This role involves circulating duties across various specialties, including general surgery, orthopedics, spine, urology, robotics, OB/GYN, plastic surgery, and conscious sedation.

Responsibilities:

• Perform circulating nurse duties in the operating room, ensuring patient safety and maintaining sterile techniques.
• Assist in preparing the OR for scheduled surgeries, verifying equipment and supplies.
• Monitor patient vital signs and intraoperative condition throughout procedures.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical team members to ensure smooth operations.
• Document all intraoperative activities accurately in compliance with hospital protocols.
• Adhere to infection control standards and maintain sterile environment throughout procedures.

Qualifications:

• Hold valid CA Registered Nurse license and Nursys verification within the last 2 weeks.
• Possess current BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS certifications with valid expiration dates.
• Minimum of 2 years recent circulating OR experience in a community hospital or trauma Level 2 setting.
• Demonstrate experience with general surgery, orthopedics, spine, urology, robotics, OB/GYN (including C-sections), and plastic surgery.
• Have conscious sedation experience and on-call availability including overnight weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
