Radiology Tech - X Ray Tech

X-Ray Technologist

Schedule: Monday to Friday, Day shift, 8-hour shifts, on-call and callback as needed.

Assignment Details: Contract Length: 13 weeks

Requirements:

• Completion of formal training in an approved School of Radiologic Technology.
• Certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• New York State license (or ability to obtain prior to starting).
• 2 years of experience as an X-Ray Technologist.
• Experience at a Level 1 trauma center.
• Ability to lift or move patients.
• BLS certification (American Heart Association only).
• Experience using C-arm/O-arm within the past 8 months.
• Recent operating room experience.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Verify patients' identity and review physicians' orders before x-ray procedures.
• Use x-ray equipment to take radiographic images of patients' bones, tissues, and organs.
• Explain x-ray procedures to patients and address their questions.
• Position patients appropriately, considering their mobility limitations.
• Ensure safe and proper handling of radiologic equipment, minimizing radiation exposure.
• Observe patients' status and interpret the necessary information for their age-specific needs.
• Produce high-quality diagnostic images for interpretation by the Radiologist.
• Notify management of any damaged or malfunctioning x-ray equipment.
• Utilize electronic patient information systems to verify patient details and exam specifics.
• Maintain accurate patient record keeping.

Compliance / Notes:

• Must be able to report within 30 minutes for on-call shifts.
• Must complete orientation requirements and pass background checks as needed.
