Expense Reconciliation Specialist

Responsibilities Kforce's client in Wilmington, MA is seeking a detail-oriented Expense Reconciliation Specialist to support expense reporting, account reconciliations, transaction review, and financial compliance activities. This role is responsible for reviewing employee expenses, reconciling financial transactions, analyzing discrepancies, and ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting procedures. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, exceptional attention to detail, and experience working with financial data and expense management processes. Key Responsibilities: Review and reconcile employee expense reports, corporate card transactions, and related financial records Verify expenses for accuracy, completeness, proper coding, and policy compliance Investigate and resolve discrepancies, exceptions, and unsupported transactions Perform account reconciliations and analyze variances between expense records and financial systems Monitor expense activity and identify trends, anomalies, or compliance concerns Partner with employees, managers, Payroll, Finance, and Accounting teams to resolve expense-related issues Maintain accurate documentation and audit trails for expense transactions and reconciliations Support month-end close activities related to employee expenses and corporate card programs Prepare expense reporting schedules, reconciliations, and management reports Assist with internal and external audits by providing supporting documentation Support process improvements and automation initiatives related to expense management and reconciliation activities Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and accounting standards Requirements Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred 2+ years of experience in accounting, expense management, accounts payable, reconciliation, or financial operations Experience reviewing and reconciling expense reports and financial transactions Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial controls Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, lookups, and data analysis Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills Excellent attention to detail and accuracy Strong communication and customer service skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines Preferred Qualifications Experience with Concur, SAP, Oracle, Workday, or other expense management systems. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future. We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law.
