Store Manager in Training

Job Summary Store Manager In Training (SMIT) is a development focused role designed to prepare candidates for a CVS Store Manager position. The program is a 16‑week self‑paced, collaborative training that includes virtual and hands‑on learning experiences. Participants work with a District Leader, Human Resources Business Partner, Training Store Manager, and a Store Manager coach to develop leadership skills. Key Responsibilities Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing to support and lead the team. Perform customer care duties to provide high levels of service. Execute merchandising strategies to support store sales growth. Manage store inventory and assets to maintain profitability. Actively engage with leaders in Key Learning Experiences to support progress toward promotion. Support the store as a management team member and lead in a manner consistent with CVS values and policies. Engage colleagues in support of the company’s purpose of “helping people on their path to better health.” Be willing to accept promotion roles within the designated market. Qualifications High School diploma or GED (required). Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Retail management experience or experience as a CVS Supervisor. Willingness to accept a promotion to Store Manager role at any location in the designated market. Ability to transfer to other CVS Pharmacy stores within the designated market. Ability to work a schedule that may vary based on business needs. Performance and availability of openings will determine promotion to Store Manager.
