Location: Lutheran Community at Telford Schedule: Full-Time | 7a-3p + 6a-2p | Every 3rd Weekend Required

Position Summary

To ensure that the healthcare facility is kept clean and presentable to residents and guests; and to protect residents and staff from possible infectious diseases and injury.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

• Clean, disinfect and maintain a safe environment in resident rooms, as assigned on a daily basis. Use proper germicide cleaning products and follow infection control practices at all times.
• Clean public areas of the nursing facility, including bathrooms, shower/tub rooms, lounges, nurse's station, dining rooms, offices, hallways, chapel and reception area as assigned on a daily basis.
• Performs extensive room cleaning as scheduled.
• Responds to and prioritizes service requests as needed.
• Responsible for keeping carts and closets neat and orderly. Must keep all chemicals in a locked cart.
• Demonstrate an interest for the special needs of the elderly by being considerate, understanding, and friendly.
• Report the need for repairs to supervisor or complete a work order.
• Follows all department policies and procedures, including proper use of all PPE issued and attends all departmental meetings and required facility in-services.
• Assume other miscellaneous duties and responsibilities as directed.

• Previous housekeeping, hospitality, healthcare, hotel, or commercial cleaning experience preferred
• Strong attention to detail and pride in your work
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment
• Ability to communicate effectively with residents and coworkers
• Dependable attendance and a positive attitude
• Ability to follow safety procedures and cleaning protocols
• Physical Requirements
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
• Ability to push, pull, bend, reach, and perform routine housekeeping tasks
• Ability to lift and move supplies and equipment as required
