Key Requirements:

• Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) earned from an accredited college or university
• Active LARA Social Work license (or MSW Limited License)
• At least one of the following credentials: Preliminary School Social Worker Certificate (PSSWC), Professional School Social Worker Certificate (PSWC), or School Social Worker Permit (SSWP)
• Approval from MDE (Michigan Department of Education)
• Official university transcripts (to be provided prior to onboarding)
• Experience working with school-age children, particularly those receiving special education services
• Excellent communication, confidentiality, and advocacy skills
• Preference in caseload (elementary K-6, middle, or high school 7-12), to be specified upon application
• Onsite services are preferred; however, experienced candidates may be considered for VOCO (virtual/remote) roles

Responsibilities:

• Provide intervention and support for students in special education through individual or small group formats
• Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to develop and implement effective strategies addressing students’ socio-emotional and behavioral needs
• Manage a dynamic caseload adjusting to elementary, middle, or high school levels as needed
• Maintain accurate records and compliance with relevant state guidelines and school policies
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of socially supportive educational programs
