Flexx Workforce of Louisiana is seeking experienced Ship Fitters for a work assignment in Cut Off, LA. Candidates should have ship fitting, structural fabrication, and layout experience and be comfortable working in a shipyard environment. Job Duties:
- Fit and assemble structural components for vessel construction and repair
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and measurements
- Lay out, measure, cut, and fit steel components
- Use grinders, torches, and other fabrication tools
- Tack components into position for welding
- Check fit-up, alignment, and measurements
- Follow all jobsite safety requirements
- Work overtime and weekends as required
- Previous ship fitting or shipyard experience preferred
- Ability to read blueprints and fabrication drawings
- Knowledge of structural steel layout and fit-up
- Reliable transportation
- Dependable attendance
- Must complete required pre-employment screening
